I was cruising down Codman Hill Rd. at unkown speed (the limit is 35, I was going no more than 45, but I think less), when suddenly a navy blue Crown Vic pulls onto the road from a construction site with its lues blazin'. I immidiatly pull over to the right, retrieve my papers from the glove box, place my hands on the wheel and wait for the officer to arrive at my doorside. He does retrieves my paper work and works his way to the front of the car. "No front liscence plate?" he says. Keeping my right hand on the wheel, I point my left out the window at the front of the car and explain that my car requires a factory adaptor for liscence plates that I had been unable to locate. He nods, comes back around to the side of the car, and then suddenly, grabs my left hand (which at that point was resting on the door sill) and proceeds to pull me out the open window. "Take it easy!" I yell, now aboslutly terrified. "You have a gun in the car" he says as he drops me to the pavement and cuffs my hands behind my back. He leads me back to his car, tells me to stay the or he will shoot me, and returns to my car. I, meanwhile, cannot for the life of me figure out what he is talking about, until he retrieves the orange plastic uzi squirt gun that my friends five year old brother left there. After searching my car without any sort of permission, he also discovered "Narcotics", that turned out to be mints ( I thought the fact that they were in mint containers would be a dead give away). Finally, he uncuffed me, confiscated the weapon, and then had the gall to hand me a ticket for speeding (47 in a thirty-five). And wouldn't you know it, in all the excitment he forgot to check off 'Radar' as his method of speed detection. As far as the ticket goes, I got off because of that little omission on his part, but despite this, I will never, ever set foot in Boxborough ever again. BEWARE THE BOXBOROUGH GESTAPO!!!!!

Be extremely careful driving through this town. You will encounter marked and unmarked cars behind every tree, shrub and mailbox. These cops give alot of breaks but keep your mouth shut or you'll pay $$$$. As far as level of enforcement goes, these cops make the state police look like girl scouts. If you have a light out, a bad inspection sticker or are going a little fast, look out! Any and all violations are fair game. Be careful!!

I was stopped in Boxborough on Swanson Rd. The officer was very nice and gave me a warning. Boxborough Police do stop alot of cars, but they hardly ever write tickets. They have a reputation of being tough on motorists but they are really very fair. As long as you are nice to them, they will usually reciprocate.

I was coming home after an evening of dancing when I was pulled over by an officer. He said that I was weaving and speeding. He asked whether I had been drinking, I said "no" and he screamed at me. He made me get out of my car and do some crazy tests, which of course I passed, since I wasn't drunk. My point is, don't drive through this town at night. My lawsuit is pending.

Avoid driving in the town of Boxborough, Massachusetts if at all possible. I lived there for 6 years and was warned as soon as I moved in by all of my neighbors about the Boxborough Police Department. To say they are overzealous is far too lenient a description of their traffic enforcement. They will ticket you for 5 miles over the limit and will go to the law books to write as many infractions on you as possible. I observed these sociopaths harassing innocent people all the time I lived there, on a daily basis. They cruised all the parking lots at all the apartment complexes and the omputer companies (like NEC - who brought millions of dollars into town and donated laptops to the PD) all day and night - and either tow your vehicle for any outstanding infractions like a single unpaid parking ticket or if you drive a flashy, expensive sports car. It does not matter if you obey all traffic laws at all times. They will come to your house, write you a ticket on a trumped-up charge (you did not stop at that stop sign a half-hour ago, you were speeding on 111 20 minutes ago, etc.) They did this to me; and when I challenged them in traffic court the sociopath that wrote the ticket lied to the Clerk/Magistrate before I came into the room (and she glared at me with undisguised hate when I walked in - some fair trial - who knows what that lunatic said?) and lied about everything that happened and presented a perjurious written report - guess who they believed? DO NOT EVEN DRIVE IN BOXBOROUGH!! They even pull people over on the highway that cuts through town (Rte 495) - especially truckers. A young single Mom moved into my building and one day her and her son were walking up Rte 111 on a very hot day - I picked them up and asked if her car was in the shop - she said No, the Boxborough Police had found an 11-year old speeding ticket that she never paid, sent someone up to get the records from New Hampshire, and pulled her over and confiscated her car the next time she drove. She lost her car for months, and had moved to Boxborough for a fresh start. She should have paid the ticket, but that level of enforcement is psychotic in my opinion - she had to walk to the grocery store if one of us was not around to give her a ride. She could not even get to work. I can go on for an hour about those bottom-of-the-barrel individuals that comprise the Boxboro Police, but do yourself a favor and do not drive there or even think of living there- you WILL be harassed no matter how low a profile you try to keep - I was and everyone I knew there was too. Avoid Boxborough like the plague.

Rte. 111 should always be travelled at the speed limit. It is 40mph with a small section reduced to 30mph. Not just late night, always! They are enforcing the speed limit to the extreme. I have seen people get pulled over for 43 in a 40 zone. And, from what I've heard personally, are not the friendliest people in law enforcement. Many secondary roads are not that heavily patrolled but I wouldn't risk it. And as stated in other posts, they will patrol I495.

Cop sits on Summer Street about 1/4 mile down the road from the intersection with Rt 111. They sit off the road, so you don't see them until you are right in their view. The speed limit is 25, even though people routinely go 40+ down this road. I have observed this around 5-6 pm.
