Coming from Boston college TOWARDS boston on Comm Ave. After the actual campus less than 1 block on the right a cop will stand in front of an unmarked dodge intrepid a ( tinted windows?) pointing the gun towards you. He will be immediately before a gas station and tall apt building. He has no qualms about flagging you over and I missed a ticket b/c the guy in front of me got bagged. After reading another post on this site " The road is illegally posted 30mph, so says Mass Highway. Comm ave is a 2 lane divided highway at that point prima facia speed limit is 50mph so fight them tickets. I recieved a citation the Friday after thanks giving 2002. Which I fought an won. Other's Comments - 3/2004 - Thanks very much for posting this advice. I went to court with this explanation in mind. I stepped into the magistrate's office, and he dismissed the ticket. Every other person I spoke with in court had gotten a ticket in the same area "

Comment (7/2006): The unposted limit is only 50 mph for divided RURAL roads, which are defined to have fewer than 6 buildings within a half mile. This certainly doesn't apply to Commonwealth Avenue near Boston College.For thickly settled zones, the unposted speed limit is 30 mph, but the rules for an unposted limit aren't as strict as for a posted limit (an officer has to measure your speed continuously over an eighth of a mile in an unposted thickly settled zone).

Comment (9/2006): Wish I had read this site before! I was ticketed there years ago. I fought the ticket & it was reduced but I didn't know that handy tid-bit. Darn.

Comment (12/2006): I was hit there sometime in august, huge ticket, cop was a major jerk about the whole ordeal. will be going to court shortly
