Monroe Street is a two way street and a direct route to 95S or 495S. Cops tend to hide under the trees by the industrial park and also hide near the cemetery parking lot. The cops are not friendly at all...
Comment (5/2005): Yes.....this is true...both state and town cops hide there!
Comment (12/2005): Amesbury probably has THE highest POLICE presence in the whole state ,other than Boston,,and they are not nice

Police enjoy sitting at the bottom of a steep hill and pull folks over that are just rolling along. Speed limit is not unreasonable for the road, just the enforcement is. A warning would surfice, repeat offenders should be ticketted. Amesbury has way too many police, money that could be much better spent in education.
