Be very careful driving the streets of East Boston. The police officers don't have as much to do as in other parts of Boston, so they concentrate highly on traffic enforcement. And, you don't have to run a red light or stop sign either. If you have a headlight out, or a tail lamp out, or brake light not functioning, etc, you will get pulled over in a heartbeat, and cited as such. Be especially careful on Bennington street, in the Wood Island Mbta Station area, as traffic enforcement in that area is especially high, particularly late at night, with traffic coming from Logan Airport.

Comment (5/2004): By the Wood Island stop there is always a cop...there is a stop sign that if you stop at the stop line there is a bridge support blocking view of oncoming traffic, if you yeild and go a little further they will stop you.
