Primarily near the correctional facilities approximately 3 miles south of Cumberland or one mile North of Cresaptown, Maryland State Police will drive up and down this strip working 'Moving Radar' and will also attempt to pace vehicles travelling this route. This area is worked extensively, and the dark (green, maroon, black, various shades of blue) unmarked cruisers will work along with marked cruisers. These vehicles are the new style Crown Victorias. In one instance, a marked cruiser appeared to have stopped an unmarked cruiser, in which the unmarked vehicle broke from the engagement to intercept the target. Allegany County Sherriff's department will usually do the same south of Cresaptown and into Rawlings.

Westbound on I-68, as you start down the hill before the Rocky Gap Exit, 9 times out of 10 there are at least two state troopers, sitting in wait. And if not there, there is one within the 7 mile stretch between Rocky Gap and Cumberland.
