About 1/2 mile south of I-695, There are bushes in the median. The cop stands behind them and shoots at those coming onto the JFX. It's always the same guy. Sometimes he's alone, but often he has 3-5 others that wave people to the side. He's there often in the morning. Look for the lights in his open trunk. Rumor has it he is highly biased towards out of staters, while Marylanders like myself have a little more give.

this trap is on the left lane shoulder across from the I-83 exit ramp. beware as you'll have to peek between the signs while going around the bend to spot the trap and slow down in time. normally state troopers will pull over cars going 70 or above in the left two lanes. if you see any cars on the shoulder, going uphill, SLOW DOWN to 65. as soon as you pass the trap, you are okay to do 75-85 mph. however, beware as MD state police will be using unmarked ford expeditions to catch speeders and agressive drivers.

Usually, during the weekends and end-of-month, you'll see AT LEAST 2 State Police patrol vehicles sitting on the median(barriered) on the Beltway inner-loop. They're just before the I-83 South exit at the top of the large hill. One car is the "spotter" and 1-2 car(s) are the "pursuit" vehicle(s).

the highway has several light controlled intersections with extremely fast amber lights. approaching the intersection one does not expect an instant red light. proceeding through results in a photo being snapped which includes a blowup of the license plate. A letter is then generated to the cars owner (or leesor) stating that he has been fined $75 very carefully pointing out that this fine will not be reported to his insurance company or will it result in any points on his license. It directs the owner to send the fine to the DIRECTOR OF FINANCES-CITY OF BALTIMORE. it seems that baltimore has come up with an ingenious way to have motorists fund the city.

Mostly marked state troopers directly after the Southbound 95/895 split parallel to the road in the median stip. However, there appears to be an unmarked red Mustang patrolling the strip just south of 695 on 95. He uses X-band, so beware of X alerts, in addition to the K and Ka of the state troopers.

On I-895 southbound, *just* after it splits from I-95, the speed limit drops abruptly to 50MPH. Police sit in a small pulloff on the left shoulder, behind a guardrail. Fairly hard to spot, but it's immediately after entering I-895 south from I-95 south.

In the median, there's a turn-around just before the concrete barrier begins. There is usually at least one trooper parked there, especially at night. This is bad if you are entering I-95 Northbound from I-695 and trying to merge with traffic. Additionally, all along I-95 between this spot until just past I-395 is a heavily policed area. The posted limit is 55 mph.

As you enter city limits from I-95N, the speed limit drops from 65mph to 55 mph. about 50 yards from that sign, you will see a cop sitting in the median. If he sees no attempt on your part to slow down, he will follow you and pull you over. You can usually get away with no more than 65 mph before he follows.

Usually located a half mile off of Cold Spring Avenue, the police like to hide down a side street, and step out into the road to pull you over. They are usually there between 8:30 AM and 1 PM.

Signs claim speed is enforced by aircraft but have never seen anyone pulled over for it. Rarely are police on I-95 North because they would have such a hard time pulling people over who are going 90mph and the high volume of traffic. Just be advised for aircraft in the marked areas by yellow signs

They usually set-up 2 or 3 cars on the very wide shoulder of the indside lane against the barrier as you come around a corner for a straight away. Worse yet, is that the grade of the road is not the same for opposing traffic, so they can "hide" below the wall and opposing traffic can not see them --- therefore, they can not warn oncoming traffic. But the WORST thing is that they sit with their trunks up so that STATE TROOPER can not be read on the trunk deck, nor can the light bar on the roof be seen. In contrast, they wear dayglow orange vests so they are quite visible when they step out (into oncoming traffic at > 55mph) to flag you over. Makes sense to me... BE CAREFUL

Going south on 895 right after the I-95 split, there is a downward hill. Cops like to sit on the left side right at the sign where the split is along with at the bottom of the hill at the base of the bridge. At night it is hard to tell if they are there or not because of reflectors. Going north the cops normally sit on the sit of the road between the third and forth bridge. The bridges I refer to are ones that you go under, not one you go on and the cops do not care about the traffic in the other direction (ie. The cops by the bridge don’t care about the northbound traffic) based on what I have seen.

As you come around a blind corner the cop sits on the left near a fence. Posted speed is 30 mph but safe can be up to 45mph as the road is fairly staight after the blind corner.

This trap should be well-known to anyone that commutes using Rt. 43 every day. State Troopers will set up (usually 2-3) in the median, just after the I-95 exits, and just prior to the Rt. 40 ramp... usually in the afternoon during the rush, but I've seen them at other times as well. The road curves around to the right, and you will not see the cops until they have you in their sights. They will usually have their trunks up, hiding the car's markings and seem to always use laser. The speed limit is only 50mph here, but many people still think it is 55. You'll usually get stopped if you're doing 65 and above. Beware - the Troopers are really cracking down on this location and I see them there at least once a week.

Could be radar or just pacing their perp. I saw a Mustang with no outer markings on it. It had someone pulled over with some very pretty lights on it. Watch out. What happened to the days where you could spot those Plain Jane Caprice Classics or Fords from a mile away?

At the 895 spur exit(goes to 3, 301, 97, etc) there is a LARGE open area between 895, and the ramp, before it gives way into grass/dirt and a big green sign. Saturday/Sunday mornings a large congregation of cops can be seen a few feet beyond the sign. Usually 3 or more state cars, a couple cops with radar/laser guns, others in their cars or just conversing. HIGHLY enforced, I saw them go after someone who was doing approx 55(limit is 50). Another description, a little ways after the toll, but just before the long bridge going over the city.
