The cops here are very good. Try and speed and you will be caught. One solution, don't speed.

Route 4 as a whole, is a speed trap. The area on route 4 between Prince Frederick and Solomons Island is used as a training ground for the Maryland State Police. MSP will lurk on abandoned ramps, personal drive ways or just sit on the side of the road. However, if you maintain a speed of 64 mph the law enforcers will usually leave you alone.

Coming down the big hill just before you get to Lower Marlboro Rd (across from Sunderland Post office) is always a speed trap. It's right after the Camelback development turnoff. They hide in the actual Camelback Dr turn off and sometimes right up the hill about twenty feet while sitting in some man's driveway. There is a cop there roughly 20 days out of thirty.

Heading South on Rte 4 just as you enter Calvert County from PG police officers, yes plural, shoot radar up the road from under the trees just after the over pass for Rte. 260 heading towards the Beach. They WILL pull over multiple cars at one time, so do not think that because they've stopped someone you're okay. Also, on occasion troopers have been on top of the bridge and will shoot radar at North bound traffic and have a ground unit pull you over.

Rte 4 south, Huntingtown. In the median an unmarked (no reflective tape) crusier will sit without lights on shooting radar. The crossover point he sits at is near Chip's Towing, Michelanglo's & Aria Spa, and the new Kaine Homes development "Gate's Reserve", approx. 1.5 miles south of the Rte 2 - 4 Junction in Sunderland.
