The MD State Police (Officers are paid by MdTA) and the Maryland Transportation Authority Police should be down at BWI airport and the Port of Baltimore looking for suspected terrorist and scanning container cargo, but since so much of your toll money is wasted, they are in fullforce Northbound and Southbound on I-95 between north of exit 67 White Marsh and the 95/895 split to the south. They use marked vehicles (watch for the trunk lids up, some are even creative enough to put the spare on the ground behind the cruiser), but they also use late model Mustangs, Camaros, a couple of Pontiac GTO's, variety of colors; all dark black and blue, Ford Expeditions (gas is no object to these state workers) and Chevy pick-ups with major window tinting (exceeds state law). Oh yea, and throw in two motorcycle cops on SB 95 between exit 67 and exit 64, but they are only there if the weather is perfect so they don't get dirty. All of the unmarked vehicles stick out like a sore thumbs if you pay attention because MD has a window tint law and since they are the police, well, they are above the law and they can violate it. That plus how many owners of Camaros and Mustangs have antenna's on the vehicles and if you look close enough at the tires, not your factory Goodyears but special police HP's.? The bright side is that it takes 5 of them to pull over one car with a lot of drama, so once you see the pack on the side of the road, slow down for 30 seconds, try not to run into anyone, as their tactics cause a lot of turmoil on the roads. You are good to go till you get to prior to MM70, and right after MM76, the Harford-Baltimore line where they run laser in the NB direction. It's usually during the day between 9 and 3. Please use extreme cuation as I have seen these cowboys literally walk accross two lanes of traffic to pull someone over. They have no problem jeapardizing your life (someone not speeding) to generate revenue for the State of MD. | |
