I was travelling from Cape St. Claire to St. Margarets, so I crossed the overpass over Rt. 50 at exit 29B. There was a cop on a motorcycle parked in the middle of length of the bridge, off to the side, using some sort of radar on the traffic below. He was facing the oncoming traffic of 50 East. I assume he was checking the speeds of those going East, and that there was a cop car further up the road to pull over those violating the speed limit.

Multiple Locations, usually a marked state cruiser is sitting on the shoulder or at a cross-over. Common Locations: US 50 East about 1.5-2 miles before I-97, just as you begin to decend a big hill, Cruiser is located in the median cross-over just over the crest of the hill. On US 50 Westbound the cruiser is ofetn located in the very wide right shoulder just past the Jennifer Road/MD 2 South exit, and the entrance ramp. Other locations are sporatic, but this area has been announced as highly targeted for enforcement.

This speed trap is only there during about the last week of every month, I guess it's when the cops are trying to meet their quota for the month in speeding tickets... both directions are enforced from the grassy median and the side roads right before the hill... there are usually about 3-4 cops in all.. 2 to call them out and 2 to chase..lasts for about a week every month, but that's it. Not that bad, but I thought it might help a little.

As you exit Rt. 50, East or West, and go down Rowe Blvd. toward Annapolis they camp out just across the first bridge, about 1/4 mile from 50. The speed limit is 35, but drivers are comming off 50 where they are doing 60-70, so there is usually several cars stopped at once.

Lately, there have been at least 2 state troopers sitting on the left shoulder against the concrete divider right before the mall exit. They would flag the driver down and have them pull over on the shoulder. As you might know, there isn't a lot of room on the left shoulder. I've only noticed this during the morning drive, around 8:30-9 am.

Police hide behind bushes on the Public Works property and nail drivers on a steep downhill heading towards West Street. The speed limit is 25 mph. If you top the hill at 25 mph, you can easily coast 40 mph right where the officer is pointing his rader gun.

State Police sit in the left side shoulder and will shoot at on comming east traffic. Very heavy in the morning. Sometimes they are there in the afternoons. The trick is..if your heading east bound on Route 50. As soon as you see the Fitzgerald Cadillac or Harley Davidson of Annapolis. Slow to 55 and merge as far right as possible. They will not flag a car that far over. I have witnessed this first hand.

Starting at Hillsmere Elementary down to Bay Highlands Rd their are 5 spots I have seen AA county police sit. 1) Hillsmere Elementray parking Lot, 2)Park entrance directly across the street, 3)St Annes day School Parking lot (both entrances), 4) On the shoulder heading towards Thomas Point park (Right past Quay Harbor), and 5) On shoulder heading away from Thomas Point park (just past Bay Highlands Rd). In addition, the stretch of road that I have seen these 5 traps cannot be more than 1 mile. Posted speed limit is 35 mph, which is fair, considering that it is a mainly residential area.
