More heavily enforced in summer. A dummy car is regularly parked at the Exxon station, with an officer actually being present at random intervals. The speed limit slows from 55 to 35mph through the main portion of town.

Comment (2/2005): It's true, I used to work across the street from where the police cruiser parks and he faces the northbound traffic day and night. Usually during the day when they are there there is an officer in the vehicle.

Comment (11/2005): I have also seen cops down there...I bet the catch lots of vacationers!

The bridge is marked for 35mph, but ive even seen school buses disregard this. The bridge is insanely wide, as are individual lanes. It is noted as one of the largest speed traps in Maine, ecspecially during the summer months. Got tagged for 79 in a 35 last year. I admit, I was pulling away from traffic, and definatly in the wrong, but traffic moves at roughly 50mph across the bridge. State cops, Locals, and unmarks alike constantly monitor this bridge.
