On Route 100 (Portland Rd) in the area of Blackstrap Rd there is a small area of 35MPH near area businesses. Cumberland PD spends ALOT of time sitting in any business parking lot in this 35MPH zone. Be most careful after dark as they pull well off the road and use instant on radar. Its too late by the time you know they are there.
Comment (3/2006): Going North on Rt 100 speed is 50mph. At base of large hill it drops to 40mph. Sometimes at night CPD sits with lights off to snag people who maintain the 50mph going up the hill. At the top of the hill it drops again to 35mph and the sign is partly hidden. They CPD will be sitting anywhere in that next 1/4 mile to snag you. I actually got pulled over for doing 42mph in the 40mph zone one night. Beware!
Comment (4/2006): awful around greeley (main st. and route 9) 25mph. Once they even set up flags.
