Alma Police officers will sit in the Scots Oil Parking lot just past the railroad tracks facing South. They are waiting to nail cars who go faster than the 25 mph speed limit just prior to the railroad tracks. Just after the railroad tracks the speed limit is 45 mph. Alot of people get pulled over here daily and this area is heavily patrolled.
Comment (11/2005): Charles Ave. south of Iowa St. is a residential neighborhood. Just keep it at 25 until you get to the 45 sign.

Every day I travel south on Charles Ave to get to West Superior and there is a cop sitting on the west side of the road at the church near Superior St. facing north. The speed limit is a pain-staking 25 mph. They nail many people with this speed trap.

Just north of the railroad where Charles St becomes Smith Rd the city police hide in the parking lot of the Alma Container Company. This is where the speed limit changes from 25 to 45.

City police in the parking lot of the church at the intersection of Superior and Charles Streets. This is a 25MPH zone, but you are coming down a hill so most people will be over the speed limit.

City police frequently are in the Alma College parking lot (near the dorms) at night. Students frequently cross the street there so 25 MPH isn't unreasonable. Just slow down through there!
