As you head North on I-75 entering Bay City and pass the rest stop on the South side of I-75. There is an over pass about a mile before you reach the first of two Bay City exits. Troopers sit outside of their car with a laser gun on your left. They're very hard to see, and when you do see them it may be too late. Watch the tail lights of cars aheard

Frequently during the Central High School lunch hours, every day now, Green Avenue is being patrolled heavily. This street was common for speeding to get down to Center quickly. The known spots they hide at are: Nurmi Drive looking towards Green, being a set of large bushes next to the Temple at the end of the road, on the side streets. During lunch hours, it is recommended you obey the speed limit on this street, at least 4 people are hit during the lunch hours EVERY DAY.

Heading over the Independance Bridge in Bay City is a speed trap. Police will sit on the side of the bridge where the bridge attendants park. Sometimes two police cars will be parked there; one will radar northbound, and one will radar southbound traffic. Traffic flow is around 40-45 mph in the 35 mph zone; often the BCPD will pick you out of the crowd to ticket you. (especially teens)

There are three spots that the police camp out. First, the back of the parking lot. If a person sees it and knows they're caught, they may think they can get away, but the location is such that they can take off in a heartbeat, and with the intersection one way and the straightaway the other way, they can EASILY follow you or have you stopped. The second location is behind several bushes in the Wheeler's drive-in area. This is only valid in the winter, because during the summer they can't block that entrance. The third location is farther down by the Marquette/Hart street intersection. There is a small wooden fence that is large enough to, you guessed it, hide a car. This location is impossible to escape if you're caught, they can take off quickly in both directions. Here is my suggestion: Drive around 7 over at the most, they are lenient and won't bother you at this speed. If you see no one in these three locations, then take off and hope you don't get in a chase. :)

Location: Coming out of Essexville they will be on the right at the old Woolahan Lumber. They back up to the fence to prevent you from seeing them. Enforcement: Usually it is a Weighmaster attempting to bust the local Aspault Company dump trucks, but sometimes they will switch it up with a regular police car.

Heading south, Trumbull turns to Tuscola just past the curve and into M-15, with the speedlimit increasing from 25 to 35 just past Columbus Street, then to 55 past the intersection at 22nd Street. Officers seem to be looking for motorists who are increasing their speed too quickly leaving town, or not slowing down soon enough for those coming in (heading north). Not sure where they hide, but I've seen three cars pulled over in this strectch of road within a half hour period.

Henry St. in Bay City is always being monitored by officers for speeders. The speed limit on Henry St. from Salzburg to just south of Wilder is 25 mph. This is the perfect place to catch people speeding at any point during the day and the officers certainly do monitor traffic regularly.

In the middle of Independence Bridge there is a parking spot for the bridge attendant. Every morning between 4am and about 9am north bound there is a cop sitting there that you won't be able to see until you make the bend leading up to the bridge. I've gotten a ticket here and I have seen many others.
