They like to hide under the "over-pass" bridge on the concrete hill. They also like hiding under the over-pass in the median between lanes.

Comment (7/2003): Hwy 65 & Hwy 10 is in Spring Lake Park, not Blaine

Comment (7/2003): Hwy 10 and 65 is Blaine, County 10 and 65 is in Spring Lake Park

Comment (7/2003): They mean the "new" Highway 10.

Comment (8/2003): Hwy 10 is in Blaine; County 10, the old Hwy 10 is in Spring Lake Park

Comment (2/2004): Actually, part of County 10 is in Blaine.

Comment (2/2004): It is Blaine, but the point is watch out!

Comment (4/2004): Either smokies (state patrol) or local yocals are milking this "cash cow" a lot. It seems as if someone is always wanting a piece of the action.

Comment (7/2004): Heavlily patrolled on Sunday mornings, and Saturday afternoons. Have seen one officer sit backed in against the wood fence West of the overpass, so you're looking for the cop under the bridge and he's actually on the side of the road...

Comment (1/2005): I work nights and have driven through Blaine for the last 15 years, on Hwy. 65, going home. If there was any place that I would like to be able to avoid altogether it would be Blaine. They will follow you right on your bumper hopeing that you will weave around a little, as your watching them in your rear view mirror, so they have their "probable Cause" to stop you. I've had it happen to me, and seen it many times. Driveing through Blaine is like swimming in shark infested waters. Swim at your own risk!

Comment (3/2005): I had no idea...thanks to all you slow drivers out there i got stuck behind and avoided these hidden traps.

Comment (08/2008): I was recently nailed coming off the NB 65 interchange to WB 10 (I believe it\'s County 10), going over the bridge and coming down the other side to see the SLP cop sitting almost on top of the first speed limit sign (not in the grassy median). The MnDOT website describes this as an Expressway which most commonly have a speed limit of 65 MPH, and then it gives 2 examples: Hwy 10 and Hwy 52. Blaine and Spring Lake Park are 2 of the ugliest areas for speed traps. Why don\'t the residents complain about their cops not patrolling the neighborhoods, catching thieves and burglars, car thieves and the like? Probably because it generates City revenue. I\'d like to know how much of the City budget for these 2 cities is generated by their speed traps. If it\'s more than 10-20%, the residents there need to complain, even if it does take away from the City budget. I\'m sure the residents are victims of these speed traps as well, even though they know where they are. I\'m fighting this ticket. Sorry residents of SLP; you\'re not getting my money easily.

Cops are always sitting on the right side of the road in lochness park if you're heading north. I've been pulled over twice but got off both times.

There is almost always a parked cop car sitting on Terrace waiting to either pull you over for the strictly enforced 30 mph speed zone and/or to give you a ticket for rolling through the stop sign the same intersection

It's not truly a speed trap, however, between University Avenue and Highway 65, AKA Central Avenue, it does not matter what time of day it is, you will always see at least one cop driving up or down 109th Avenue. It is the same road that BeBop's Cafe and now the Venue Night Club are located on. If you are headed west, the road drops to one lane and drops from 45 mph to 35 mph. THEY WILL NAIL YOU on this one. If you are going east and are going faster than 35 before it turns to 45, they aren't any less leniant there either. I've been busted twice going that way. Finally learned my lesson!

When Traveling Hwy 10 W/B, Polk St. Is between State Hwy. 65 and University / Foley Ave. Both Blaine PD and the State Patrol park in the median next to the bridge pylon to disguise themselves. Both W/B & E/B are enforced, rarely both directions at once. This is a 65 MPH zone, and they will pull over motorists past 75 MPH
