Watch out when leaving the city. Even though it looks like rural area, don't speed up until the speed is 55. Got a ticket got going 50 in a 40.
Comment (4/2005): Sounds like one of the commentators is of the kind that thinks if 55 is safe I'll drive 50 and be Real safe! (creating hate and discontent wherever he goes.....
Comment (9/2004): ANYWHERE in Aitkin County sucks. The highway patrol is seriously bored up there or something.
Comment (10/2004): Actually, the "highway patrol" in Aitkin County is seriously committed to speed enforcement! You will find that the rule of 10; i.e. "9 your fine, 10 you're mine" does not apply in Aitkin County. There is no speed limit above 55 in all of Aitkin County and it is strictly enforced. Please drive carefully. The local residents (me included) appreciate your cooperation.
Comment (3/2005): I don't think Aitkin County is that bad. The cops are really nice. In my 10 years of driving with a leadfoot in Aitkin County I have only been pulled over twice, 65 in 55 and 70 in 55. I was really wrong both times.
Comment (3/2005): Speed kills, everyone knows it, they also know what the speed limit is, if you want to take the chance and speed, pay the fine, and quit complaining. Keep up the enforcement.
