I have listed this as high enforcemant, not that there isn't a problem with speeding through Braham, but when 500 tickets are written in one month, I would consider that high enforcement. They sit on various places in town, sometimes at the bank, or the gas station, bowling alley, just about any place. I've even seen them on the shoulder (on the right of way) of Hwy 107 on the way into town from hwy 65 at night, with all their lights off. I would say 6 mph over will get you a ticket, and a head light out at night will get you stopped for sure. I go through town at 25mph, and even then I've gotten followed all the way home. Twenty five years ago it wasn't this way.
Comment (4/2005): Braham officers did not write 500 tickets in all of 2003 & 2004 nor in one month. I wonder were the above got his/her facts. Also no one as ever been cited for 6 over the speed limit, even thou they are speeding at six over. That mile or two of hwy 107 is dangerous between 4am and 7am. People drive like crazy at thoses times. The speed limit through town is 30. People drive twice that rights through it. as far as the right parking? This is not true!. I drive that town everyday, and your right, the police sit all over 107, but never in the traffic right of way.
Comment (4/2005): For the entire year of 2004 there were 781 vehicles stopped for speeding in the City of Braham, approx. 1/3 of those got tickets for speeding. For the month of January 2005 there were only 318 calls for service which includes any type of police call besides traffic too. There were 78 speeding, 35 no headlights, 13 no taillights, 5 DUI's, 11 arrest warrants and 14 public assists (of course these are never mentioned) There will always be misinformation given out by people who think they know what is really going on without asking for the facts. If you speed through town, you'll get stopped, thats a fact. And 6 mph over the speed limit will probably never even get you a second look. This information is a matter of public record. 25 years ago, look at who was in charge and that will answer your statement.
Comment (4/2005): 25 mph in a 30 mph zone is definetly reason to be suspicous of your driving habits. A large percentage of DUI drivers are found because they are driving TO slow and it draws an officers attention. Sounds to me like those cops are doing an awesome job. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
Comment (5/2005): Keep up the good work!
Comment (6/2005): I have been cited twice from Braham PD. I have been stopped 10 times. Nine of the ten times I deserved a ticket. All ten stops were very professional though. Keep up the good work and gived me a break for the 11 time.
Comment (6/2005): The Officers who work in that town are professional, kind, and responsible. Most other cities could only hope for a group of Officers that are that willing to be so involved in making the city a safer place for all of us to live and raise our children. Take one look at our crime rate compared to those of any other city in Isanti County. That puts it into perspective. These officers keep us safe and serve their community well. I wish we could all have the opportunity to thank them for a job well done. Please keep up the good work, your efforts may be unappreciated by some, but everyone I know loves what you do. Great Job. Thank you.
