the speed limit drops directly from 55mph to 30mph, police officers continually monitor this area as they sit with their lights of in a parking lot of to the lefthand side. they give an average of probably about 5 or 6 tickets per weekend.

Comment (10/2004): I disagree working with the one Officer that patrols the City of Arcadia, I can tell you that he does not write 5 or 6 tickets per weekend. He is only part-time and usually does not stop people until they reach 20-25mph over the speed limit. That is not fair????

Comment (3/2005): I grew up in Arcadia and Visit there often... THIS IS A SPEED TRAP and ALWAYS has been. I can not tell you the number of people I personally know who have been ticketed here over the past 10 yrs. As A matter of Fact, 3 yrs ago My Husband was ticketed here for doing 36 in a 30 zone - RIGHT past the Speed Change! This is also a great pick for thier road blocks! I personally have went thru several here in the past 15 yrs or so.

Comment (11/2005): Some people would complain about anything. The City of Arcadia has ONE Part-Time Officer! A speed trap? I don't think so.

Comment (11/2005): I have been an officer in this county for 14 years and it is here recently that there has been an officer for the city of Arcadia enforceing any kind of traffic on Highway 72. He is a part time officer and only works 20 hours a week, and every other weekend. Where the speed limit changes is a residential area and it needs to be enforced like this.
