Speed limits are realistic but enforcement is constant and exploitive. Officers hide beside Bayless or off Avenue H. Will stop motorists for speeding, less than complete stop at stop sign or ANY other moving or non-moving violation. Traffic court night is packed. A new City Hall/Courtroom is under construction. Bella Villa mayor recently announced intentions to annex surrounding area including part of I-55.

Comment (11/2002): I have never recieved a ticket but I drove to and from work through Bella-Villa for 14 years and the speed trap has been their almost everyday.

Comment (11/2002): Be carefull because they usually do not pull you over until you are outside the limits of Bella Villa...even as far as the entrance ramps to I-55.

Comment (8/2002): new city hall is finished. now they are trying to pay for it. also watch for hidden cop in old carwash parking lot on east side of bayless.

Typical small municipality that generates income by strictly enforcing a 35 m.p.h. zone. They will pull you over for any infraction. No warnings are given either. They are not interested in safety as much as they are revenue for the city.
