Two to three county police vehicles with vehicles pulled over at almost any time on a 15 mile stretch of I10 between Gulfport and Kiln, MS. Police are using marked black and white cruisers and one unmarked white SUV usually at Menge Ave. exit.

Comment (5/2005): They got me there! Just past the harrison county-hancock county line

Comment (4/2006): They are not harrassing they are the only county in the united states with county DOT(department of transportation) and their inspection bldg. is at the menge ave exit.

Comment (3/2005): I am a local resident.. This seems to be an accurate submission.

Comment (5/2005): yes the tax collectors are always in that location

Comment (5/2005): They are especially after truckers. It is too the point of harrassment. I've seen possible racial profiling with people on the side of the road with seats out of their cars/vans, etc..while being searched..Harrison County is quite possibly the worst place I've ever seen for this...other than Victoria, Texas..

Comment (6/2005): Just about anywhere on I-10 in Miss. (77-mile stretch), cops in unmarked vehicles will tailgate motorists (especially with out-of-state plates) and pull them over if they either accelerate to gain distance or change lanes without signaling.

Comment (7/2005): The tailgating in unmarked cars and then the pullover is real. I think they target out of state cars. I drive I-10 several times a week. The Sheriffs target the truckers.

Comment (8/2005): This tactic isn't just limited to this area of Miss. However, it almost always happens to those left-lane types blasting thorugh at 85+. When you're on I-10 cruising through this area... just simply stay out of the left lane. You're less likely to attract attention to yourself.

Comment (12/2005): Drug interdiction cars..... that's what everyone is talking about...

Comment (3/2006): County cops can't have radar in vehicles. The are only pulling over trucks and occasionally trailing vehicles for three miles before they pull them over. If you don't notice him by then, you deserve the ticket.

Comment (10/2007): Let\'s be fair here...I-10 is a major drug route through the U.S. and it is no different in Mississippi. They will get you for excessive speeding, but most likely they are looking for drugs.

Comment (12/2007): These deputies risking their life every day to get the people who\'s bringing drugs to your children and family members. Next time you pass through blow your horn and give them thumbs up. You people complaining must have something to hide if not shut up.
