If one is headed south on I-55, when you hit Exit 48 (Mt. Zion Road), start to slow down. The medians are filled with pine trees for the next 6 miles (Exit 42 - North Brookhaven)and State Troopers feed there constantly. Also, reverse the order and don't gas it as soon as you pass the last Brookhaven exit. I used to travel that road a lot and 60% of the time there was someone pulled over in that 6 mile stretch.

Comment (3/2005): Especially MileMarker 35-37 in both lanes. There's a crossover at MM 36 where they love to sit. Also, in Brookhaven, never go above the posted SL inside town limits. They'll ticket you for three miles over the limit.

Comment (5/2005): I got a ticket for doing 92 and I was not even going the speed limit 70. I have LA plates and it was a holiday weekend. The cop pulled over another out of state driver right after me. I now avoid driving through MS unless I really have to. And I sure don't spend a nickel while passing through. They know it is not worth our tiime to travel back to fight the ticket.

Comment (1/2006): I agree. I live in Brookhaven and used to travel to and from Jackson for work and I always slow down when reaching this area.

Comment (11/2007): Brookhaven also has a trap on Industrial Park Blvd. The cops are always there. It is ridiculous to have a posted 30mph on that Blvd.

Comment (11/2007): I have also noticed that the Black cops usually have a White mv operator pulled over and writing. Is it a reverse racial thing?
