Biloxi Police units usa this route NB/SB on their daily commute. They make MANY stops going to and from work.
Comment (5/2002): They like to hide in the dip just north of the bride and the D'Iberville exit. I have seen cops sitting there at least 30+ times.

Comment (7/2002): They are also in the practice of "practicing" late at night (early morning) for taking in a suspect. I was stopped at 0400 on my way to work one morning, for going through a yellow light. They blocked off the intersection in front of, and behind me (total of 5 cars) and had me exit the vehicle with their weapons at the ready, and lye on the pavement spread eagle... I was so scared I shook in my boots. They then approached searched, and told me that I had resembled a "suspect" involved in other serious crimes, by name and description (yeah right!) They checked me for a tatoo and then let me go... and I still go the ticket! Be careful there...
Comment (7/2002): I'd hardly consider this a speed trap. The speed limit doesn't suddenly change or anything, and its in the wide open. The only problem with this area is the speed limit is too slow for an interestate.
Comment (3/2003): There is alot of construction still going on up on the interstate in the I-10 area hence the low speed limits. If they were any higher the accidents up there would be fatalities instead of just bumps and bruises
Comment (4/2003): It is a police officers duty to make sure everyone is safe at all times. I agree sometimes things are extreme but they do an excellent job making sure I am safe traveling through all the construction to and from work. My hat goes off to all the men that dedicate their lives to my families safety.

Be warned: I-10 through Mississippi has lots of traffic and it's share of accidents and is chock full of VERY BAD, agressive, fast, disrespectful, and dangerous drivers. Things have been kind of haphazard since Katrina with enforcement, as these days it tends to vary. Jackson County: You don't see the MHP or JCSO out too much out here (too bad!) and thus you have to contend with plenty of left-lane screamers. JCSO does not use radar or laser. In Biloxi, there is about a 5-mile stretch of I-10 from I-110 to the Biloxi/Gulfport line that is still heavily and aggresively patrolled by Biloxi PD, particularly at night. They even have a pretty fast (marked) mid-90's black Camaro ready to chase down perps. Gulfport PD also regularly patrols I-10, but IMO Biloxi has a better presence. Harrison County SO is also around, but I tend to see them placed more in the western 1/2 of the county... They have a few B&W Mustangs they use and also Tahoes for what looks like pretty aggressive commercial vehicle enforcement. Miss. HP is also around... Don't see them much, but their focus, I'm told, is drug interdiction. It's kind of hit and miss... Keep your eyes open and don't get too comfortable. You never know when they'll decide to step things up again.
