MS Highway Patrol watches southbound traffic from a median crossover within a mile of the highway transitioning to four-lane. Even with radar detector, this position is hard to anticipate as the hills interfer. Once you receive a signal, you are already detected even with a high quality radar detector.

Comment (02/2008): February 2nd 2008... Sunny Saturday afternoon - MHP on Harley Davidson - in median, facing South - 1 mile south of 4 way stop. Bottom of hill - Detector picked up Kband at top of hill prior - was able to avoid any problems - this time.
