Mississippi Highway Patrol stop speeders on Interstate 55 near the Big Black River north of Canton, Mississippi. There is a good reason though, because the Interstate becomes a straight for several miles so people tend to treat this stretch of highway like a drag strip.

Comment (6/2006): This is very true. There are a good number of Madison/Yazoo county State Troopers that patrol this area regularly because it is very flat and open, and it sometimes seems like a Nascar race!
