This section of road was 55mph since the speed limit signs were installed. It was just recently changed to 50 and even 40 for "unknown" reasons. Commuters from VA and Caswell Co. use this road to get to work in Burlington. I've seen The amount of people cited increase DRAMATICALLY in recent months. HP is HEAVILY patrolling this rural 2 laned road and I have seen a Dark Green small Chevy Blazer issuing citations, The green blazer is unmarked and The Officer wears CASUAL clothes, NOT a uniform.(badge hangs around his neck on chain)

Comment (11/2003): Yeah, watch out for those HP Camaros. They are painted black and silver like other HP's, but are VERY difficult to see unless they are right on your bumper.

As you approach Exit 145 on I-40 west, you begin to climb a hill. An SHP likes to sit on the other side of the hill on the right side of the road. They're usually parked on the v-shaped patch of grass that is next to the 145 onramp. The hill is steep enough that it is easy to come over the crest of the hill at 70mph or more if you aren't paying attention. Since the cruisers park in the grass at this trap, it is only used on dry days. I have seen this trap set up at all times of the day and night, so it must be a popular one.
