Hwy 105 within 1/2 mile of high school entrance. Speed limit rapidly goes from 45 to 35 in about 1/4 mile. Police active both northbound and southbound. Enforcement warning signs have been recently added to speed limit signs! A radar detector will pay for itself here!

The City of Boone is collecting a "drivers tax" anywhere in the city limits. They have posted signs for "speed enforcement zones" and work the streets day and night. High student population and tourist area.

The officer will wait in the church parking lot right near Fieldstream Drive. Located at the bottom of a steep hill waiting for people who do not hit their brakes too hard to maintain 35mph. You practically have to slam your brakes to the floor to keep 35mph, but if you don't, the police are waiting!

Cops always sit around the powerplant across the street from the parking deck. Watch out they'll be in the corner with their gun on waiting. They pop tons of people for speeding 5 over and more. Never speed on that road. They are always there.

HIghway 421 North into Boone is 4 lanes but speed limit changes from 55 to 45 to 35 as soon as you enter the city limits. State troopers monitor this area from side streets in unmarked white Ford cruisers.

The speed limit on Oak Street is 20 mph, which seems really slow until you consider that it is a residential neighborhood and you shouldn't be flying through there anyway. There are usually cops all throughtout that neighborhood because it is one of the town's new "Zero Tolerance" zones for speeding. You shouldn't be speeding through there anyway, but if you are, watch out - one day I drove home from work, and I saw three within a half mile stretch. Most of the officers are pretty nice (from my experiences with them), if you deserve to be let go, they'll be fair.
