Roving Highway patrolman badge number 293 or 793 in a black unmarked camaro. Very remote road. Ticketed myself (from KS and the car behind me from Minnesota) Both feel we were not exceeding speed limit. Claimed to have gotten us on radar however unable or unwilling to show locked in radar speed. Never did identify himself. Only after looking at the citation did we learn he was highway patrolman. This is a case where I am certain they target out of state vehicles knowing you will not appear in court either because you can't or that you will be found guity regardless. They know it is impossible to prove you weren't speeding and the word of the cop is always accepted no matter how corrupt that officer might me. I know this as a former reserve officer. There are alot of crooked cops out and they could care less if you were actually speeding or not. Most people simply pay their fines and move on. They (the cops) know this is a win win situation and the courts love the money.

Comment (6/2004): Same thing here, Followed a 45 mph U-haul for ten miles. Finnally passed him and got a ticket for $165.00 for 84 in a 65. This area should be avoided at all costs !

Comment (8/2003): The car is marked, it's blue. You have incorrect information, think before typing next time.

Comment (7/2003): I too have a speeding ticket from this same officer and have found similar problems. Being certified as an expert in police radar, there is No Way for this officer to LOCK a Speed Due to his moving in the hilly area he supposedly measured me in.

Comment (7/2003): If you ask to see the radar and he doesn't show it to you or cleared it already *wink wink* you can't be charged that is the law at least in NE.

Comment (3/2005): "I'm sure they target out of state vehicles" That is not correct. Everytime I write someone a ticket from out of state, and they think I am picking on them, I can show them 3 - 1 tickets in my book of NE residents over out of state people. Go ahead and speculate if it makes you feel better, otherwise, set your cruise AT the speed limit.

Comment (9/2003): Nebraska law does not require an officer to show you the speed he/she clocked you at on the radar. Your information is incorrect.

Comment (11/2003): I forgot to add thanks to Ernie Chambers the state rep, all NSP cars have to be marked with a exterior light bar, and vehicle markings if the car is to be used for traffic enforcement.

Comment (1/2005): No unmarked cars used by NSP. Officers do not have to show the radar display either.

Comment (10/2007): the trooper name is GRIFFITH , D.L.
