I am alway seeing people getting pulled over on 75 on the Sarpy County side. I just got VASCARed yesterday by hwy patrol.

Comment (8/2004): I'm active duty Air Force stationed at Offutt AFB, which is in Bellevue; I can attest to the validity of this speedtrap notification. The Bellevue PD and the Sarpy County Sheriff's Dept truly have nothing better to do than to give out speeding tickets at all hours of the day and night. My radar detector is my bestest friend in the whole world.
Comment (4/2004): Don't speed in sarpy county. Period. There is actually higher crime and vandalism problems in this small suburb than there should be because of the focus on speeding. Especially watch out for construction. They're known to mark several miles of the road 15 lower/fines doubled then speed trap them. Usually there is no construction going on for several months to a year after they put them up and after the construction is done before they take them down. 370 and cornhusker are known for this.
Comment (6/2004): On highway 75 between Cornhusker and 370 they have speed traps set up a couple times a month during morning commute. They sit on the south 75 on ramp off of cornhusker and nail someone, then drive to 370, get on the north 75 on ramp and do the same thing. Wash, Rinse, Repeat.
Comment (4/2005): I agree with this posting. I'm Active Duty stationed at Offutt AFB as well. The entire 75/370 area is one big speedtrap. You've got Sarpy Sheriffs and Nebraska Troopers with TRULY nothing better to do than give out tickets. Watch out during the morning and evening rush hours. They give out their tickets in the AM and then disappear until 1600 or so, then they come back out for another round.

They sit in those apartments next to the elementary school and clock you as you come down the hill and then charge you for speeding in a school zone if they catch you

Chandler Rd W is heavily patrolled between Fort Crook Rd and 36th St, where the speed limit is 35. The real "trap" is the four lane, divided section between the Kennedy Freeway and 25th St. Going downhill from 25th St., there is no residential or commercial traffic, and it is easy to be traveling at 45 mph (reasonable for traffic conditions) if you do not ride your brakes. This is Bellevue's greatest source of speeding tickets. Enforcement is from both moving and stationary patrol cars.

Driving north on Galvin Rd., the speed limit drops from 35 to 25 on a downhill section near Avery Elementary School to Fort Crook Rd. Patrol cars are usually parked at the Fire Station or Romeo's parking lot. Except during school zone hours, 35 would seem to be a safe speed, but the 25 mph limit makes it easy to get a ticket if you are still driving 35.
