US 70 between Las Cruces and Alamogordo is the only U.S. Highway where you can legally drive 75 mph! (day and night) (all vehicles) but only for a 27 mile stretch through White Sands Missile Range. Be careful because the speed limit will go back down to 65 and cops could be hiding.

Comment (2/2006): Its still 75 MPH from the White Sands Missle Range to the Border Patrol Checkpoint, but the NM Legislature is currently seeking to lower NM's Limit to 65 statewide.
