40mph marker and 50 mph marker less than 100 yards apart. Cops ALWAYS hide behind the fencing between these two markers and bust anyone who happens to try to get to 50 before they reach the sign.
Comment (4/2004): Well, then wait until you get to the sign. what is so hard about that? The law says the speed limit does not change up until you reach the sign anyway, and if it is only 100 yards what is the big deal?
Comment (6/2004): Waiting for the sign is not the point. If cops have nothing better to do than patrol a 100 yard stretch of highway something is wrong. I thought the idea was to keep cronic speeders slowed down in order to keep things safer. This is pure BS entrapment. I would think you could beat that ticket as well. Does the speed limit change when you pass the sign or when you can read the sign? This is the lowest form of law enforcement.
