On the west edge of Eureka, as you approach town, the limit drops from 70 to 55. At the very top of a steep hill the limit drops to 40. You better be at 40 or below as you crest the hill. The sheriff's office is at the bottom, and they have a nice, long view up the hill, and many people are caught for speeding, and the fines are very high.
