Our first clue? When entering Austin from the east, a hand-painted sign reads, "Speed Trap." Thank you, citizens of Austin. Unfortunately, the Austin police appear to be working the west side, clear on out to the 70 MPH straights of 50. Enforcement vehicle is a metallic blue SUV running Ka radar. Also watch for a white unmarked car working in tandem. This car was spotted in the sand/salt mounds outside fifty while the SUV had folks pulled over; pulled out and paced us from a mile or so back for about five miles. Very sneaky.
Comment (3/2006): I got ticketed 2 miles east on 50 at the top of the hill outside of Austin. Ka band instant on. I have a Rocky Mountain Unit and it did not save me. No time. He was waiting around the bend heading towards town.NHP SUV Dark Blue. 94 in a 70.
