Vehicles traveling Eastbound Hwy 50 (from Tahoe to Carson basin) are targeted. NHP waits at rideshare parking area on w-bound side. Motorists traveling e-b around hill are caught at strait away. Trooper is not visable until around bend. Tourist trap.

Comment (7/2002): Nevada Highway Patrol also extensively uses moving radar along Hwy 50 between Carson City and Stateline border, especially along Lake Tahoe. They travel in the left lane and target oncoming speeders traveling in the opposite direction. The speed limit drops to as low as 35 in spots so it's easy to get caught going too fast.

Comment (7/2003): I do 60-65 in those two spots and have yet to get pulled over by the NHP, even though I've seen them a few times. I go significantly faster on the rest of the road and have never been nabbed either. I also fly around 28 and have only ever seen a NHP waiting in the passing area. As long as you slow down on the two spots on 50 and don't pass at Sand Harbor, you shouldn't have a problem.
