Patrol sits back off side off Central at Everet (south side)uses radar...work in tandem with Colonie PD slong central Ave/Rte. 5 corridor both directions as far as Rte. 155(west of Albany)

Comment (01/2008): Yes, Officer G. Donahue of the NYS Police did aggressively tailgate me on 1/19/2008, causing me to speed up and attempt to shake him by changing lanes. He was following me in a large black unmarked SUV. Very frightening for an unarmed female driver. I had been traveling with the flow of traffic until he started to tailgate me, so it\'s unlikely that I had been driving the 77 MPH he claimed to have clocked me on radar. As an out-of-state driver, I\'m not going to take the time/expense to appear in court and no doubt that\'s another reason I was targeted.

Across from memory gardens there is a treed community. Police will wait behind the trees in front of the neighborhood.

State police use a gold colored minivan that sits on the shoulder of the highway appearing to be disabled with it's tailgate up. Troopers are inside firing radar/lidar out the back at oncoming vehicles. State police cruisers are waiting nearby usually out of site to persue violators upon notice from minivan. Have seen this tactic used both northbound and southbound between exits 4 and 5.
