Best Western On Western Ave. The Albany Police sit with in the parked cars, facing south and north bound traffic. Also, right across the street at the gast station( next to the western ave entrance to SUNY) a small speed trap. Mostly guarded during the evening hours between 6:30 and 10:30. Will strech into the early morning hours.. watch. will ticket. speed limit is posted at 40mph. will ticket for anything over 40 mph. Most traffic drive at over 50mph.

When coming onto I-90 East bound from Western Ave. there is a small grassy patch that is on the left side, almost every night you will see a cop sitting there waiting to nail people speeding off of the ramp. Mind you the posted speed limit is 55mph, but the average speed of traffic is 60-65mph, if you are going 55mph you will have trouble merging with traffic, the ramp is very short and they seldom stop traffic that is already on the highway, they wait for someone that has just come off the ramp to stop.

OKay heading east from exit 9 to 11w, Right when you pass exit nine there is a hill, cops like to sit on the other side of the road at night with the lights off kinda in the breakdown lane. ALso when you get to the top of the hill right before exit 10 there is a bridge with a u turn*most of the time they are facing the westbound lane* It is elliot road i think. After the bridge don't think your safe because on the right side of the highway there are cut out's and hills they like to sit on constnatly you can't see em until you pass em.. also exit 10 heading east from miller road i think it is. they like to sit on the on ramp. so you will never see em and your radar will not go off until you are already clocked... From exit 9 to 11w i would not speed..*S* hope this helps

Driving on Washington Ave (east direction from uptown SUNY campus), the speed limit is 45 mph, and becomes 30 mph about 200 yards before a red light, as one enters the 'city'. There is a NY Police academy just half mile away, so expect many cops hanging around sipping coffee and eating donuts. Cops are always parked, hiding around the crossing of Washington Ave and Brevator St., and most people are doing 55 mph till they hit the red light. I got lucky when 4 cops pulled the 4 guys in front of me - all of us were doing 55 in a 30 mph zone. I know atleast 5 of my friends who have been ticketed there.

I-87 (both directions) just south of the Twins. Headed southbound, you clear the bridges then round the bend to the right as you climb a small hill. At the top of the hill is a U-Turn that is a favorite spot. They'll see you long before you see them. By the time you've thought "Oh $#@!" they're pulling out after you.

It seems once a every 4 months they set up a inpection/registration sting at the entrance of the Northway just as you go over the bridge it decends and bam 6 cops out of their cars looking for inspections. The sad thing about this set up is that there is no warning as you are trying to gain speed to get on the highway you are forced to come to a stop in a very short distance. I have seen many accidents there because of the way they set this up. It should be stopped! People could be harmed.

It seems once a every 4 months they set up a inpection/registration sting at the entrance of the Northway just as you go over the bridge it decends and bam 6 cops out of their cars looking for inspections. Travelling north on SR 157, just as a beautiful view will distract you, the 55 limit quickly changes to 30. Very easy to miss the sign and the trooper waiting in the oppsosite lane with the radar gun
