Route 39 in Arcade is a four lane stretch of road between Route 16 and Routes 98. There are a couple of lights but generally the traffic flows freely. Speed limits, though, are 30 and 40 for the entire stretch 3-4 miles, well below what condiditons would suggest. Well known in rural WNY as a local speed trap. Follow the limits, day or night.

Comment (1/2006): This is a heavily populated area with much traffic and 30-40 is an understandable limit and it is enforced as such but with many young people in the area it is acceptable

Comment (3/2006): They especially like to hide out near the Prestolite plant as you head out of town toward Rte 16. Classic speed trap.
