Small town of 350 with 2 police cars to catch you at either end of town which is about a mile long. They have quoted that they must issue at least 40 tickets a week to make their budget.

Comment (12/2004): I was goneing 50 miles an hour between the reduce speed sign when they pulled me over an said i was doing 53 at the 35 sign when i appled the brake before the 35 mile an hour sign then they arrest me for a suspended lincese that they said was i DUI when i never got one .My lincese was suspend for proof of ins. Which i paid in the state of W.v in 2003 .

Comment (4/2005): I started slowing down when I saw the 35mph sign ahead. I was pulled over and told I was clocked at 51mph. I told the officer I wasn't speeding and that he clocked me before I reached the reduced speed sign but I was given a ticket anyway. Now I have to appear in traffic court and pay $55.00 court fee plus the $91.00 fine. I'm guessing it will be useless to plead not guilty.

Comment (1/2006): i know the police officers in that town and no they do not have to write 40 tickets aweek to make their budget you people need to open your eyes and look speed limit is 35 mph , most of the houses are too close to the street and kid's live there would you like to have one of your kid's hit by a car i don't think so thoses who live up from athalia you know the speed limit so just slow down the police department is opening up again this month so slow down remember athalia has kids too.

The town is only maybe a half mile long yet there are two cruisers there to serve and protect. There favorite approach to attack is to have one cruiser completely visable on the side of the road facing the end of town so that the non locals will pickup the pace once you've passed the cruiser while the 2ND car is waiting at the other endout of site facing you as you come towards him. Its nothing new but locals still get caught on a regular basis trying to get to or from work
