Travel East from Rt. 91 on Solon Road and you will enter one of Ohio's oldest known traps. Old timers remember this one from the 50's and 60's. Recently, Bentleyville has again been sitting in driveways along Solon Road a 35 mph road. At night, with black cars, makes them hard to see to the unexpected visitor.

Comment (5/2005): Also Bentleyville's jurisdiction is Cannon Road from Solon road going North to the entrance of the park it is hilly with limited sight and is posted 35mph. If you pick up speed going down one of those hills driver beware because they will write a ticket if you are over 35mph. Also South from Solon Road on Liberty Road till you approach the Solon city line. they hide in the driveway waiting for someone to exceed 35mph.

Comment (6/2006): Bentleyville also sits on Chagrin River Road just at the entrance to S. Chagrin Metro Park shooting radar up Miles Road, often after dark, and during the late afternoons on Holbrook Road between Chagrin River Road and Franklin Street usually on the old Wheeling and Lake Erie R.R. right of way.

Comment (11/2006): How many people have actually received a citation from the Bentleyville Police in the past five years? Bentleyville Police write probably the least amount of citations in Ohio. They only write around 250 citations a year which are for accidents and drunk driving. Neighboring communities like Chagrin Falls write at least twice that amount every year. Plus Bentleyville only tickets speeders traveling at least 15 miles over the speed limit. This is largely due to the exceeding deer population. Deer account for about half of all the traffic accidents each year. Lets give these brave men and women our thanks for keeping us safe!
