The cops sit in the Marathon station usually clocking northboud and southbound traffic, Bellbrook is small town with little traffic at night. They have a little stretch of road on Wilmington which goes from 40 mph to 35 mph very quickly. Also, general note about Bellbrook, watch out for any big hill, they love to catch cars freewheeling down into their "village". Watch out they have a nice little thing going.

Comment (1/2003): My wife received a ticket for going 34 in a 25 zone down said hill. It seems excessive to issue citations in an area where there is a large hill. Perhaps a warning would be a little more appropiate, especially considering she was going less that 10 over. The hill is also short enough that you barly have time to notice that your speed has stepped up and adjust before being cited.

Comment (4/2003): They also hide in a driveway just south of the Marathon about 1/2 mile also they go down just at the bottom of the Hill just a little farther down, oh by the way they dont like tinted windows either, you will get a ticket, and also dont be a teenager and drive thru they will also pull you over. Hey just stay out of bellbrook!

Comment (1/2004): You should not be speeding through our fair city, that's what we pay our police for.

Comment (2/2004): "Fair" cities do not condone nor conduct "unfair" speed traps.

Comment (2/2004): Watch Waynesville Road approaching Bellbrook from the south--you go from 55 MPH to 25 MPH with very little warning. I got nailed here in '98 at 10 till 6 in the morning--no other traffic anywhere--the cop went and told me he "clocked me on the hill" where the limit is 55, and when I said that was out of Bellbrook he stammered "Well I clocked you on into town". I went to court and wasted a few hours only to pay the fine in person instead of mailing it in.

Comment (2/2004): this is all true. i live in bellbrook, on wilmington and go thru all of these everyday. i also am a senior at bellbrook and going to and from school everyday they sit at the bottom of the waynesville road hill along with sitting in town on side streets, behind parked cars, etc. the above comment about the cop that sits in the driveway at the bottom of a hill, w/o any lights on at night is totally unfair, does he want to replace my worn brake pads from riding my brakes the whole way down the hill? bellbrook cops are sneaky...watch out

Comment (7/2004): Whomever wrote that "that's what we pay our police for" comment has to be part of the local government who also reap the rewards of the strong armed tactics of their Nazi police thieves. I was clocked outside of the speed zone and then ticketed inside for my speed before entering. It was totally a setup so watch out for the Little Sugarcreek road heading south the stormtroopers sit in the park just under the hill and will clock your speed in the 45 zone and use it as you cross into the 25 zone.

Comment (11/2007): Whaaa Whaaa Whaaa !!!!! What a bunch of babies ! I understand that they might clock you outside the speed limit area and use it when you get into the lower speed area. Yeah , Thats not right. But to complain about coming down a hill in a residential area (and I\'m not talking about a waste treatment plant). I was almost hit on my motorcycle going up that hill. A car couldn\'t see me over the gaurdrail at .... I think it was Ferry Rd (right close to Tom\'s Mulch) .... and just about nailed me coming out in a big hurry. I\'m not saying that those cops are all good in what they do either but I\'ve also seen some really stupid kid drivers with license too. I\'m for the traps and if your speeding I just hope the cops catch you before you hit me on my motorcycle. You can\'t imagine (unless you ride) how often bikers have to avoid you idiots in cars feeling all safe in your metal cages. Ride a motorcycle for once and you will see. SLOW IT DOWN !!!

They use some type of radar. Often the squad car sits in a driveway or the entrance to the park. Usually looking at the southbound traffic coming out of Sugarcreek township boundary into the city of Bellbrook boundary.

Bellbrook sits at the bottom of the Hill for both ways, if you are not speeding you will be followed right on your bumper just to run your plates or force you to do something wrong. It has happened to me several times. STAY OUT OF BELLBROOK OHIO!
