The speed limit drops signifigantly from 65 to 30 very rapidly.

Comment (12/2006): “This is not a speed trap.. . .This town has deaf residents and lots of kids so the 30 is justified!” –30 mph is about the 50th percentile speed, therefore, it is not justified but only rationalized.

Comment (10/2006): This is not a speed trap. True - the speed limit does drop from 65 to 30 very rapidly. And if you're heading east toward Poteau and Fort Smith, the road does slope downward through Bokoshe. I've been stopped but being very cooperative, polite, and honest about my speed (and mentioning about the fast transition) got me off with a verbal. This town has deaf residents and lots of kids so the 30 is justified!
