Catoosa Police hide in Catoosa anywhere and Oklahoma Highway Patrol do as well If your coming off of I-412 and go thru Catoosa and you are speeding chances are your going to be paying a speeding ticket I promise

Comment (12/2002): Catoosa is not a get everybody type dept. You go thru town doing 20 over and you deserve a ticket and I hope you get it!

Comment (1/2003): The cops will hide their and even if you are going 3 miles over, they will be willing to give you a ticket. the speed limit changes coming in to catoosa off of 66 and thats when they will catch ya, especially when the signs are too far apart and often hiden behind trees.

Comment (1/2003): Catoosa has been playing games with the speed limits on Hwy 66. Pay close attention in 40 and 50 mph zones. They WILL be watching.

Comment (2/2003): Speed limits will change for construction! Obey the law and you will not have any problems.

Comment (2/2003): Catoosa Police also patrol US Hwy 412 west to the Tulsa city limits. What seems to be open highway has been annexed by Catoosa. Don't be fooled by a false sense of security and think you're out of the grasp of this devious speed trap when exiting Hwy 66 and traveling west to Tulsa on US HWY 412/I-44.

Comment (2/2003): Not only has Catoosa been famous for years as being a "speed trap" town, now due to the national budget crisis, have hired 2 more cops. They are now writing tickets for "Driving on the shoulder" even just crossing or touching the white line. Be careful - this town is using their badge to rob folks, even locals!

Comment (4/2003): Catoosa police are definatly gung-ho! I used to work at the old Git-n-Go truck stop and they came in often so we got to know some of them. Once, I ran out of gas in the left hand turn lane on 66 right across from a convenience store. I jumped out, grabbed a gas can from the trunk, and ran across the street to fill the can. I happened to look over at my car when the pump was turned on and a Catoosa cop was already standing behind my car. I ran across the street and explained what happend and he had to call off the wrecker truck that he had ALREADY CALLED!! THAT'S GUNG-HO!

Comment (4/2003): When you are trying to find a place to move out of the passing lane, because the white car behind you is pushing you, make sure the white car is not a police car. Also, if you see lights flashing the first thing you need to do is to look at your speedometer. My parents are retired and S L O W drivers. They got a ticket for going 20 miles over the limit and both mom and dad said "No Way". I can not help but doubt the validity of the officer. I have been warned for years about Catoosa, I believe it now.

Comment (10/2003): I work in Catoosa and was told the police have been instructed to write everyone a ticket. No warnings.

Comment (1/2004): Traveling on 66, be careful when peaking hills. When coming out of Catoosa, west bound on 66 watch for Catoosa police to hide in the park entrance and watch for Highway Patrol hiding in the center median after the secound bridge.

Comment (12/2007): The Speed Trap in Catoosa is alive and well! I get off work at 2:00am (Morning), I came up to the first stop light in Catoosa and stopped as it was Red, after heading down the hill out of town an officer lit me up a bout 300 yards past Spunky Creek, He informed me that I was doing 54 when he clocked me, after he went back to his car to write the ticket, I started thinking so I asked him where he clocked me at, It was less than 2 blocks past the light I had just stopped at! I will have you know I drive an old beater pickup which just gets me around, for the officer to say I was doing 54 miles that quick I must say he is a liar! Thats Catoosa for you though they don\'t need to follow the law they just do what they want. It\'s been like that for as long as I can remember! The Cops in Catoosa have been crooked since I was a boy. I know this because I had an uncle who worked for the city and use to laugh and joke about the poor suckers that the cops would stop for no reason but to just write a bad ticket.

Comment (01/2008): I have lived in Catoosa for 25 years and I agree with the \"speed trap\" is alive and well. It has really gotten out of control in the past 5 years. If you get the Catoosa paper and see the lists of tickets given out in one week, it is unbelievable. Buy one and you will see what I mean. They will stop you for absolutely anything or nothing at all just to put money in the \"kitty\". Catoosa is building its reputation as a unfriendly city to its residents as well as the visitors that are just passing through. LL

Comment (03/2008): The traffic judge there is a crook. THAT BITCH. I was told be the cop/pig who stopped me that I would get to come to court. But when you show up the bitch tells you that you can\'t get a trial unless you come back and it will cost you the cost of the ticket in court costs. And noone has ever gotten out of a ticket. I will never buy anything in that town. It sucks along with the fat pigs who write tickets.

Comment (11/2008): Oh well.. . after reading about your crooked cops, I\'m having 2nd thoughts about my visit to the Blue Whale during my cross country trip. Sad.. just reading about your town from 1500 miles away has me thinking about not spending money in your town. Not gassing up. Not buying souviners. Perhaps I will avoid this headache entirely.. .

Perhaps I will avoid this headache entirely.. .

Eastbound on Admiral east of 193rd is posted as 35 mph. However, since that intersection is always congested, one is tempted to speed away when given the chance. It is a downhill with trees obscuring the overhead view. When you get to the bottom of the hill, the police cars will be sitting at the top of the next hill. It seems like you're leaving town and entering a rural area but be aware that technically, you're not. They work this area often.

Perhaps I will avoid this headache entirely.. .
