as you enter Chouteau on US 69 from the north the speedlimit drops from 65 to 45 w/in a mile the police like to sit on the east side of 69 on side road...
Comment (2/2003): the speed limit drops from 65,to 55 then 45, get your facts straight. from concerned chouteau citzen.
Comment (5/2003): Actually the speed limit goes down to 35, because there is a school zone on the north side of town. I make this drive every day and only see the patrol cars parked on the median when school is in session. I don't want to see any of our young people get hurt, so slow down. The officers are only doing their jobs to protect our children, not to harrass speeders.
Comment (3/2004): The police do like to stop on Hwy 69 at chouteau. I live in Chouteau and I have a scanner and hear the stops.
Comment (6/2004): The city limits extend approximately 7 miles on either side of town. I count on seeing a police car somewhere within this 14-mile strip every time I come through town. This is one of the most heavily patrolled spots between Sherman Texas and I 40.
