If you typically get off at the first ashland exit going northbound (coming from medford) and proceed into siskyou (old hwy 99) continuing northbound toward downtown you will see cops parked anywhere from the 40mph sign on. Most of the time they like to park on the hidden driveways and parking lots right after the 40mph changes to 30 and give tickets all day. it goes in both directions too. watch out!

Comment (9/2003): There is a traffic officer who is working in Ashlnad from the Ashland City limits on North Main St. until you get to Maple St. The Officer is using a Laser and will be hiding in the trees when you enter town. The Officer can see you before you will see him. So be aware, he gives no warning, only citations.

Comment (4/2005): If you are coming from Medford, you are going Southbound!

The police hide right after the 20mph, which is right after a speed limit sign saying 40.. and there is no way you can slow to 20 safely before the guy busts you.

State Police sit in a wide spot just around a corner just after topping out on the pass, just as you start down, headed north. No way to spot them and slow down before entering the radar beam. Be careful of this one!
