City police frequently posted at the bottom of a steep hill waiting to entrap motorists coming off the hill at a speed above the speed limit. Motorists cannot keep vehicle at speed limit unless they ride thir brakes. There is no reason to use the brakes until you reach the next rise which has an intersecting road from the south where the motorists at the stop sign cannot see vehicles coming from the east.
Comment (3/2004): I've seen many a cop sit there waiting for people
Comment (3/2005): I'd like to know which part of Lexington. Lex is at the TOP. Maybe they mean people starting around Lexington and heading down the hill toward Commercial street.
Comment (7/2005): This is NOT some "San Francisco Hill", were talking about! It's EASY to use your breaks, OR your engine breaking, to keep from exceeding the posted limit. People have used this road and excuse for years, just to keep from entering this area at a safe speed. DOWN HILLS, is NO place, to pick up speed!
