From about a block west of 185th ave to half a block west of 174th the speed goes from 45, to 35, to 45 again. I got pulled over by a cop in the 45 zone who insisted that it was a 35 zone. I still have to go to court because I wasn't speeding.

Comment (5/2005): I drive this route all the time, and I've seen people pulled over at all times of the day. The Washington County Sheriff's office loves to patrol this spot, sitting in Big Lots parking lot, or on one of the other parking lots.

Comment (5/2005): They are using radar photovans here and like to put them where people are likely to be paying more attention to the road than to their speedometers like just at the bottom of a steep hill or just over the top of a steep hill before you can readjust your accelerater from extra gas to climb the hill at the limit. In many ways, western Oregon is a driving challenged area anyway with no end of diesel pickups doing 5-10 mph below the limit. Add to that the lack of ethics that the radar vans employ to collect money for the local municipalities, the lack of attention to the road, the general incompetence, and driving here becomes way more bothersome than anywhere else in the world that I have spent time driving. Driving here is like square dancing with slightly anesthesized chimpanzees. And yes, the condition described in the original comment is true.

Comment (11/2006): yes you were
