On weekend nights starting around 11 there are 3 speed traps. The first is at Antonios restraunt, the cop backs into a corner of the lot. Continuing towards Dupont right before the bridge is another, the cop sits back with some cars at a car lot. The last one is right after the bridge, the cop sits in the empty lot back against the trees.

Comment (4/2003): I don't think they still sit at the car lot anymore. However, the one after the bridge is no BS, I got nailed there a little over a year ago. I didn't even see the cop sitting there.

Comment (10/2003): The trap at Antonio's is definitly real. A little while back i got nailed for going through in front of there going just a bit faster than i should have. Watch out these guys can be tricky and Avoca officials can be harsh, so don't try to agrue with the officer that pulled you over.

You can be spotted in both directions, north or southbound. They back their cars behind trees near an old used car lot across from another carlot /garage just before you either enter Dupont to Rte315 or contine on Rte11 south to Pittston
