speed limit drops from 55 to 45 and is not well marked. Across from the reduced speed sign are some very unusual lawn ornaments that are distracting. I was not aware the speed limit had dropped. I have come to find out this speed trap is well know locally

Comment (8/2006): The speed limit drops to 45 MPH when you reach the wide open 4 lane, coming from a 2 lane road with a 55 MPH limit. After that, just before you reach I-85, the speed limit drops to 35 MPH. I found that out one night as I was being pulled over. The officer sent me on my way after a few minutes and only a warning, but not before he asked me if I didn't know that this was a speed trap.
