Comment (08/2008): Traveling East on Hwy. 72 It took place at 6:00 Pm on a week night. Coming from Elberton Georgia. It was in a construction zone. Only one posted speed of 35 miles per hour,that was atlease 3/4 to 1 mile of a mile from where the city police where sitting facing West with their Lasar. No one was working the road construction at that time of day. The officer did not show me the speed posted on his radar gun... Just mentioned I could of given you more fines. Spoke with the Locals, they said \"Most Fines are from $ 300.00 to $ 400.00.\" Considering of Fighting this ticket!!!!! WHATS THE POINT?????

The town speed limit is 25 mph for a very long stretch and there isn't much in it. As you think you are leaving town due to the scarcity of buildings the limit is still only 35. Where I was given a ticket I could see the 45mph sign (the cop was parked by it when he checked my speed). I asked how the limit could be 35 when I was in sight of a 45mph sign and was told that he clocked me back in the 35 zone. It doesn't seem right that within view of the 45-sign I was cited for exceeding 35.
