Pamplico is a medium-small town 20 mi east of Florence on the way to Myrtle Beach. The town cop (usually one on duty) spends the majority of his time issuing citations along the approximately 1.5 miles of HWY 51 inside the city limits. Sometimes he parks beside the road, but mainly he cruises. I know this because I live nearby and my detector lights up almost every time I pass through. Many of those cited are unwary tourists trying to make time on their way to the beach. Signs have been posted outside the city limits warning drivers to drive slowly. Take heed! Watch those speed limit signs, obey and save yourself some money!

Comment (3/2006): Never heard of a Pamplico, South Dakota. There is no State Hwy 51 anywhere the town of Florence, SD. There is no town named Myrtle Beach either. Must be another state.
