On north side of town, will set up on shoulder immediately after Welcome sign. On south side of town, will do the same. Will stop anything that moves during events at local high school. Amount of court costs increased from approx. $4000.00 in 2002 to $59,000 in 2003. You get the idea.

The town has stepped up it enforcement. Officers sit on the side of the highway blacked out. They will also ticket you for flashing your lights to warn others.

The local Brighton police actively target out of state cars. They only want the money and only turn the tickets in to the state if they're not paid. If they're paid, they disappear. That's the good part. The bad part is that the ticket is expensive. I was in the right lane, being passed by a pickup from Tennessee. Guess who got the ticket?
