Department of Public Safety and Chambers County Sheriff's Dept heavily patrol stretch of interstate from just east of weigh station to Mont Belvieu, usually parked on shoulder just on the other side of overpasses. In addition, once per week (Tuesdays it seems) there are 4-6. DPS is stingy with using the instant on radars, so one can be caught even with the best radar detectors.

Comment (1/2004): There is so much police presence in that area it is absolutely rediculous.

profiling and EXTREME enforcement of speed limits... wreckers follow State Police cars to haul off profiled-young and minorities cars.. I was ticketed at FIVE OVER....lucky I am older, white and wealthy.
